From Cruise Port: Gisborne
The first city in the world to see the sun - Gisborne is famous for its stunning remote scenery, rugged surf beaches and picturesque wineries. Your tour will visit two wineries with tastings at both and a platter lunch at one of these.
We will also show you stunning views from Kaiti Hill, taking in the features of Captain James Cook's first landing point in New Zealand, and in the far distance the site of Rocket Lab's (New Zealands version of NASA!) rocket launching base on Mahia Peninsula.
We also head up the East Coast as far as Te Tapuwae o Rongokako Marine Reserve for a a short wander along the beach. This will take us past two of New Zealand (and the world's) most famous surf breaks... at Wainui & Makorori Beaches.
To show you some key native plant species, we will stop at the Okitu Reserve and sample some Maori medicinal herbs.
We include a short stop in the central city to experience local shopping, coffee, and the special market set up for your ship. Here you will have a chance to browse the local arts & crafts on offer before we get you back to your ship in plenty of time for departure.

My ships time in port does not suit a 9am start or 3pm finish - can it change
